Freedom Transportation Guidelines
To ensure safe, timely, and professional service for all students,
please review and follow these guidelines:
Van Rules
• No eating or drinking in vans
• No weapons of any kind in vans
Drivers will wait a maximum of 5 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time before
departing (per our Van Ridership Policy)
Pick Up Procedures
• If the driver arrives earlier than the scheduled time, do not rush—students are not
expected to come out before their scheduled pick-up time
• Morning and afternoon pick-up times are scheduled—please have your student
ready
• Drivers are not permitted to contact parents or guardians when they arrive at the
home or when they depart from the home. It is important that your student is
ready by their scheduled pick-up time to arrive to school on time.
• As stated in our Van Ridership Policy, drivers will wait up to five (5) minutes after
the scheduled pick-up time before departing.
Drop-Off Procedures
• Return home time can vary based on traffic and the number of students riding that
day
• Someone must be home at school dismissal time to receive your student, unless:
-
The student has a house key
-
The driver witnesses the student enter their home
-
If no one is present and the scholar does not have a house key the driver WILL contact parent before having to return the student back to the school
• No-Show Policy:
-
A “no-show” occurs when a parent/guardian is not visually present for grades K–5 five minutes or more after the scheduled drop-off time
-
After three (3) no-shows, transportation may be suspended or possible termination of services
Behavior Expectations
• School behavior rules, policies, and consequences apply on the van
• Violations will result in appropriate discipline
Address Changes
• All address changes must be made through the school first
• Freedom Transportation cannot adjust pick-up or drop-off locations without school
approval
